Taking SAA-C03 in Italian? What you need to know

AWS has announced a change to the Italian version of SAA-C03, with a firm date. If you planned to take it in Italian, here is what changes, what stays, and whether a new exam replaces it.

AWS has added a dated notice to the certification page for AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Associate (SAA-C03): the exam in Italian "will be retired after December 31, 2026". One localised version is going away. The certification is not.

It is the second notice of this kind in two days. Yesterday it was the Italian and German versions of the AI Practitioner exam, with an earlier deadline of 15 October.

What actually changes

If you were planning to sit SAA-C03 in Italian, you have until 31 December 2026. After that you book the same exam in one of the languages AWS still delivers it in, English among them. The credential and the badge are the same whichever language you sit it in. Only the language of delivery changes.

If you were always going to sit it in English, your booking is not affected.

What does not change

  • The exam code. It is still SAA-C03. The notice names no successor. Talk of an "SAA-C04" keeps circulating on training sites, but it appears on no AWS surface we check, and this notice does not change that.
  • The objectives. The exam guide on AWS's documentation site does not mention the retirement at all. Its domains, weightings and task statements are the ones it had yesterday.

The bit AWS does not publish

Unlike the AI Practitioner guide, the SAA-C03 guide has no revisions table, so AWS gives no date for when its current objectives took effect. That is why our calendar shows no "objectives as of" date for this exam. It is not a gap in our tracking: AWS does not publish the date.

The language notice follows the same pattern as the AI Practitioner one. It says what and when, not why, and it appears only on the certification page, with no changelog. The only way to catch it is to read the page regularly, which is what we do.

If you are in Italy and have been putting off booking, the deadline is real and it is under four months away.
